New Tunes: Inhabited by Grief

We've been adding some new tunes that aren't on Miracle Contained to the Set, and thought we'd talk about them here...

The first tune we're now doing is currently called 'Inhabited by Grief', but it's a working title as we're not sure about it.... Anyway, it was inspired by the suffering in Aleppo in Syria, and all the pictures of the city being bombed to pieces around its citizens. I can't really start to imagine what this kind of experience might have been like, and how you'd ever be able to get over it.

But we were inspired to see that despite all this horror, once the city was freed, people started to make it home again, there were pictures emerging with colour, markets and food in the midst of all the brown and lifeless rubble.

So this song was an attempt to express that, and to state that hope can rise again out of devastation... Merry sings it as a prayer for every city under siege...lyrics below:

Inhabited by grief

dreams buried beneath the rivers of rubble that roll down your streets.

constant vibrating

the pounding goes on, and the dust chokes all around.

The dust chokes all around.

Living with the Ghost of the city you knew so well

Every corners sparks a memory

played out on the ruined landmarks

and broken dreams.

Guns fall silent,

but the score on the city are reflected in this that call it their home.

constant reviewing

of horrors now past, can't just put memories away

damage speaks of yesterday.

Living with the Ghost of the city you knew so well

Every corners sparks a memory

played out on the ruined landmarks

and broken dreams.

Hope can grow again,

in the city where death was king

life can break out and fill the streets with colour again.

Never forgetting, but starting again.

and the city starts to rise again, the city starts to rise again.
